Mi hermana Paty y yo ( Cris ) al inicio de nuestro proyecto

This is how it all started

How Sister Birkin was born

Some brands are born following trends.
And others are born from a way of understanding style.

Sister Birkin started in 2014, when my sister and I decided to create a space that accurately reflected the aesthetic that inspired us and that we then struggled to find.

A universe where vintage coexisted with the contemporary.
Where garments had personality.
And where style did not depend on following fleeting fashions.

The physical store arrived in 2015, but the essence of Sister Birkin already existed long before its doors opened.

The meaning of "Sister"

The name Sister Birkin was no coincidence.

"Sister" spoke of us, because we were two sisters creating this project together. But it also represented something bigger: that feeling of connection between women who share the same aesthetic sensibility, a similar way of understanding fashion and identity.

We liked the strength that word conveyed.
The idea of sisterhood.
Of complicity.

Because Sister Birkin never wanted to be just a store.

And why Birkin?

Because from the beginning there was a clear muse: Jane Birkin.

Not just for how she dressed, but for what she conveyed.

Jane had that ability to mix masculine garments with more delicate or sensual pieces in a completely natural way. She never seemed to try hard, and yet she had one of the most iconic styles in history.

But what fascinated us most was her timelessness.

If we see images of her today, many could seem current. There is something in her way of dressing that does not belong to a specific era. And that was precisely what we wanted to convey with Sister Birkin from the beginning.

The early years: vintage and pieces with history

In its early days, Sister Birkin was much more linked to the vintage universe.

We selected old clothes and mixed them with current pieces to create relaxed, personal looks, far removed from the costume effect.

Because for us, dressing with vintage inspiration has never meant looking like you stepped out of another decade.

It was always about reinterpreting.
About mixing.
About making a garment with history feel current again.

And perhaps that idea is still an essential part of Sister Birkin's DNA today.

The evolution of Sister Birkin

Over time, the brand also evolved.

Although Sister Birkin was born between two sisters, today the project continues with me at the helm, maintaining intact the essence with which it all began.

The collection has been gradually transforming. Now most of the garments are new, but there is always something that maintains that timeless air that inspired us from the beginning.

A vintage print.
A masculine silhouette.
A textured fabric.
A seventies knit.
A garment that seems found in another time and, at the same time, completely current.

Because beyond fashion, Sister Birkin has always been about that:
creating a unique style that does not depend on the moment.

“Be Unique”

Over the years I understood that Sister Birkin had never been solely about clothes.

It has always been about identity.

From the beginning I have believed in the uniqueness of each woman. In that true style appears when you stop trying to dress like everyone else and start dressing more like yourself.

That's why Sister Birkin's motto has always been:
“Be Unique”.

Not to tell women how they should dress.
Quite the opposite.

The idea has always been to inspire them to find their own way of doing it.

To mix clothes their own way.
To feel comfortable being different.
To play with fashion without losing personality.
To build a wardrobe that speaks of them and not just of trends.

Because in the end, true style is never about looking like everyone else.

It's about looking more like yourself.
