Siluetas de los 80 que triunfan en el 2019 : las mangas abullonadas - Sister Birkin

1980s Silhouettes That Are Thriving in 2019: Puffed Sleeves

The eighties were synonymous with boldness and women's liberation. It was the era of more is more and excess. Of exaggerated wedding dresses (see Lady Di) and sportswear.

But also of "power dressing" or, in other words, the style of dress that allowed women of the time to establish their authority. And from this "powerful" style came them: puffed sleeves.

A trend that, in recent years, has been making its way into the shows of the boldest designers, literally invading the 2019 runways, immediately conquering stylists and influencers. With Victorian airs, puffed sleeves deliberately alter proportions, becoming the focal point of any outfit. And yes, they are indeed a trend this autumn 2019 (pardon the use of an expression that irritates us quite a bit...). But that's not why these sleeves have taken over our seasonal basics section (SB Basics). Our exhaustive selection each season is not so much based on choosing what's in style or trending, but rather what connects with our universe in some of its facets or nuances. And in this case, they... the sleeves with exaggerated volumes, have conquered us for their eighties connotation, their structured design (so recurrent in the collections of Isabel Marant, one of our favorite designers) and, of course... for how flattering they are!

A stylish basic for those days when you want to look good but don't want to complicate your life thinking about outfits. Choose any of our puffed tops, pair them with flared or slouchy jeans, and feel powerful!!
